Description: This
portion of the EAD Application is used to record information about the
finding aid (as distinct from information about the collection). The
EAD Header section identifies the finding aid as a unique electronic
document, provides information about its creation, and is used to
record revisions made to it.

Comments: The
EAD Header exists primarily to make the document searchable in a
machine-readable environment; most of its content is non-displaying.
However, some of its elements may also be used in generating an
electronic "title page" for the finding aid.
